How do we find a movie?
We do not stock any movies so we suggest that you download a movie from Netflix or from an ethical website. Please note: Streaming from Netflix can cause the movie to buffer when viewing through a projector, so we suggest that you download the movie prior to watching it. You can also watch a DVD although you will need to supply a DVD or Blu-Ray player with RCA cables (red, yellow and white).
Does the projector come with a remote?
We have a number of remotes available although we will only provide a remote upon request. By connecting your laptop to the projector using a USB-B to USB-A adapter (we can provide) and installing some software you will be able to use the remote to scroll through slides of the Powerpoint presentation (on most laptops).
How do I setup the projector?
We will typically setup the equipment for you during the delivery phase. Alternatively, please check out our new Blog post detailing how to setup your projector – How to setup your Projector. Should you have any questions or issues please call us on 0413 129 115.
How does the sound work with a projector?
The projectors include a small speaker, however this is generally not suitable so we suggest that you also hire a speaker. We will typically connect the speaker to your laptop (via the AUX/headphone output), or from the RCA cables (red, yellow and white) on the DVD player or Set Top Box.
If you have an audio device plugged into your laptop and the sound is still playing from the projector speaker, please access the Sound/Audio section with the Settings of your laptop and select the option to play the audio from the headphone output on your laptop. If this fails please call us on 0413 129 115.
How many lumens do your projectors have?
Our projectors range from 2,700 to 3,600 lumens. The projectors work best in areas with medium/low levels of light.
What type of events are your projectors suitable for?
Can I use the equipment outside?
Some of our projector screens can be used outside if there is no rain and no or light wind conditions. Please contact us if you are looking to use the equipment outside.
What equipment do I need to provide?
You will be required to provide:
- A laptop with HDMi, VGA or Apple Thunderbolt or Lightning outputs along with a movie player and movie to watch (iTunes do not allow projectors so we suggest a movie player like ‘Quicktime’). Alternatively, a DVD and DVD or Blu-Ray player can be used as long as it has RCA outputs (red, yellow and white). Perth Projector Hire does not provide movies, laptops or DVD players unless otherwise arranged.
- An extension cord and power board.
- A small stand or stool approximately knee high and at least 70cm x 70cm. We do not permit the setup of projectors on roofs or patios unless otherwise arranged.
Are your projectors suitable for Powerpoint Presentations with small print?
Do you deliver and pickup the equipment?
Yes, delivery can be arranged, please see our delivery pricing.
Pickups and deliveries are made between 10am and 2pm on weekdays and before 12noon on weekends, unless organised otherwise. Additional costs may apply if you require delivery or pickup outside of these hours.
Can I pickup the equipment?
Pickups can be arranged depending on the equipment you require. We typically don’t allow pickup if you require a screen.
Please note: We are located in Alkimos – approximately 40 minutes north of the Perth CBD.
Do you help to take down electric cables etc?
Typically, we request that you manage the taping down of electric cables etc. In some instances we will assist, however this is the responsibility of the hirer and Perth Projector Hire is not liable for any injuries caused by tripping over wires, or any other injuries caused by using the equipment.
Is your equipment tested and tagged?
Yes, our equipment is tested and tagged by a qualified electrician at least every 12 months, in line with Australian regulations.
Orders (T&Cs, Payment & Collection/Delivery)
Do I receive a tax invoice?
Yes, a tax invoice is attached to your initial confirmation email which includes our bank details.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept payment by bank transfer or cash.
Do you require a deposit?
No, full payment is required to secure your booking.
Do I need to provide ID?
Yes, we will typically take a photo of your current WA drivers license upon delivery or pickup of the equipment.
Do your prices include GST?
Yes, all prices listed on our website include GST.
What are your terms & conditions?
Payment of the invoice confirms acceptance of the following terms and conditions.
Will I receive a refund if I cancel my order?
Refunds can arranged if the bookings is cancelled more than 7 days prior to delivery.
What happens if I return the equipment late?
If the equipment is returned late, the customer will reimburse Perth Projector Hire for the total cost of any orders that have to be cancelled (payable within 5 working days).
What happens if I lose or damage the equipment?
If the equipment is lost or damaged, the customer will pay to replace or repair the equipment (payable within 5 working days).
