In a Nutshell
In a nutshell, a lumen is a unit of measurement (denoted by lm) used to define the amount of light or brightness from a light emitting source. Ie if a bulb has more lumens than another bulb it will emit a brighter light.
How Many Lumens Do Your Projectors Have?
The standard Epson projectors from Perth Projector Hire range from 2,700 to 3,300 lumens which are sufficient for events at night/evening in venues with medium/low levels of light or the ability to dim the lights.
How Many Lumens Do I Need?
The lumens you require will depend on the size of your audience and the venue of your event. Firstly, consider what sort of lighting will be present at the event and in particular –
– Is it practical to dim the lights while using the projector if you are in a bright room?
– Where will the projector be placed within your venue and how far away will the audience be sitting from the projector?
– What sort of data are you projecting, eg – Powerpoint Presentation / Movie / DVD / Playstation or X-Box etc.
